I wrote and recorded this song after losing both of my parents in the course of a year. They were extraordinary people. It is both heartbreaking and profound to be a witness to the last breaths of someone you love. Songwriting is my therapy, and so the process of writing this song helped me work through my grief. I hope it might offer some comfort to those of you who have also experienced grief and loss.
